Nothing to See Here

Everything went fine with my procedure this morning. Unfortunately, as I expected, it didn’t reveal much in the way of insight. Everything looked normal. She drained some mucus, but not an inordinate amount. The basic theory still holds. The J-Pouch tightened up, mostly likely due to lack of use, and mucus pooled up inside. Due to the pooled liquid, it “acted” like an abscess and the body started reacting against it (hence the fever). Bacteria from stool due to my bag blowout may have contributed to causing the immune reaction. As the liquid was released over the last dues, things returned to normal. As long as it doesn’t keep happening, no cause for concern.

Next on the agenda: a pouchogram (contrast x-ray) and clinic visit on Friday.
